You may have tried to explain what happened, how it affected you, or why it mattered. But instead of acknowledging what they did, they defended themselves, rewrote the situation, or made it about something else.

Eventually, you may have stopped trying. Not because you agreed with them, but because you realized they weren’t willing to acknowledge your experience.

When someone refuses to take responsibility for the harm they’ve caused, their version of reality can begin to dominate the relationship. You may start questioning yourself, keeping quiet, or wondering whether you’ll ever be heard.

But someone else’s refusal to take responsibility doesn’t make your experience any less real.

In Episode 30 of The Reclaimed Life Podcast, I explore what happens when someone else’s reality takes over—and what it means to reclaim your own.
